What is Quareo?
Quareo technology is based on Connection Point ID (CPID) microchips that are embedded in to the connectors of TE's high performance copper and fiber network cabling solutions. These microchips contain information relating to the cable itself as well as unique identifiers for each cable.
The Infrastructure Configuration Manager (ICM) software is able to communicate in real-time with each cable and network panel. This information is stored in the ICM software database and is then used to draw topology maps as well as integrate with industry applications.
This technology is based on unique identifiers for every connection point in the network, where a connection point can be defined as one end of an Ethernet cable or a port on a network device. Quareo's CPID technology provides unprecedented levels of knowledge about the network including accurate documentation and reporting of changes, as well as enhanced security. Quareo enables higher network availability while lowering the network operating costs for a network, from the data center all the way to the desktop.
How is Quareo different?
The technology uniquely identifies each connection at the time of install, which enables the ICM software to automatically self-discover, inventory and document the connection and co-relate all other connections in the network to create a comprehensive network view of the connection points.
Every physical change in the network is recorded for real-time monitoring and event logs, topology mapping and problem solving from the data center to the desktop. Quareo delivers unprecedented security and business continuity by making every outage, interruption or intrusion instantaneously visible via graphic display and reporting tools
Q2000 Series Network Panels
Q2000 Series Network Panels featuring Quareo technology allow network personnel to view, manage and audit the physical layer. This means, for the first time, the physical layer is now subject to the same compliance policy as higher layers of the network.
With 70% of network outages attributed to errors made in the physical layer, TE introduces a new category of products. Simply put, Quareo enables managed connectivity using connection point identification (CPID) technology.
Q4000 Series Blades
The Q4000 series blades contain fiber connectivity (MPO to MPO, LC to MPO and LC to LC) - all with Quareo CPID technology. These blades mount in the Q4000 chassis and beome patching panels. All blades include multimode and singlemode variants, front cable management with removable labelling and a series of LED indicators.
Q4000 Series Chassis
The Q4200, Q4400 & Q4800 chassis are designed to accomodate the Q3000 blades (see High Fiber Count Platform) for an unmanaged solution or the Q4000 blades for a managed solution utilizing the CPID technology
Managed Copper Cables
Impedance matched for use in structured cabling systems, these managed cable exceed all performance requirements for Category 6 (Cat 6) and augmented Category 6a (Cat 6a). The plug is designed with integrated strain relievers that prevent the cable from moving at the termination point when the cable is flexed, safeguarding circuit integrity and guaranteeing maximum performance. The strain relievers also ensure that proper bend radii are maintained throughout the network.
Managed Fiber Cables
TE's multimode and singlemode fiber, managed cables with Quareo technology are essential for meeting the requirements of today's high-speed data networks. These managed cables can be used throughout the network in cross-connect, test, or equipment areas to link optical equipment.
Managed Trunk & Array Cables
Managed trunk and array cables with Quareo technology are "plug and play" and provide a convenient and efficient method to connect active equipment into the network. These cables contain preterminated high density MPO and LC connectors and feature a "round" design which eliminates preferential bend issues. Each LC leg is clearly labeled and identified. They are a standard breakout of length 18 inches (457mm), which is optimum to connect to active equipment.
